Caterpillar Redistribution Center-W Memphis

More Used equipment options than ever before

Have you ever wondered what happens to construction equipment at the end of a lease? What about the equipment returned in the unfortunate event of repossession?

Well in the case of Caterpillar equipment, Caterpillar Finance ends up with equipment on its hands that needs a new home. That’s where we come in. Riggs Cat is the newest Caterpillar Re-Distribution Center, announced in January of this year.

For a variety of reasons, our location in West Memphis was chosen to become only the second such clearinghouse for Caterpillar in North America. Soon the yard of our West Memphis store will be covered with more options for used equipment ownership than the state of Arkansas has ever seen in one location. At peak we expect to have between 200 and 300 machines at any given time.

Anything from skid steer loaders to rigid frame trucks could be arriving daily from a seven state area in the south. Our customers can walk in, they can contact their local salesmen or they can request an inventory list from the Riggs Cat website. Our new Sales Coordinator Scott Bevill will be on hand daily to answer your questions and show you the equipment when you arrive at the West Memphis yard.

The West Memphis store remains a full service facility with Parts, Service, Sales and Rental staff on-site every day. The addition of the Re-Distribution Center is just one more way that Riggs Cat brings value to our customers.

Riggs Cat Breaks Ground on New Facility

If you’ve been by our Little Rock facility recently, you’ve seen a lot of construction activity on the east side of our property. No, it isn’t a new reality show “Demo Operators Gone Wild!” or “Extreme Makeover, Riggs Edition”. We are in the process of building a new customer service facility for parts, service, rental, and sales.

We have been in our current facility for over fifty years and, during that time, we have made numerous modifications and expansions in an effort to meet the needs of our customers. Through these changes we have made it increasingly difficult to access some areas of our operations that are important to your business, namely service and rental operations. In addition, we have outgrown our parts warehouse capacity.

The new facility, upon completion, will have a common counter area for parts and rental personnel. Our machine sales personnel will also be located off the parts and rental lobby, for easier customer access.
The Parts Warehouse is the cornerstone component of the new facility and at the planned size will allow us to stock over 95% of our inventory. A new materials handling technology will be in place that will improve accuracy
and speed when filling parts orders. A hydraulic hose rebuild room and parts pickup area will be located adjacent to the lobby and accessible from the loading dock, making it more convenient for our customers.

Several other changes will come with our new facility. We’re including two super bays for service operations and offices, and we’re bringing two of our facilities into the new building. The Riggs Rental facility on Chicot and the Riggs Power System sales and service operations will relocate to the new main building. We will continue to maintain our corporate offices, human resources, technical services, credit department and marketing functions in our existing building.
During the next year we will bring you reports on our progress as that big, muddy hole in the ground grows into a state of the art facility that will better serve our customers well into the future.

Parts Availability

No longer will you have to spend valuable time driving into Little Rock to pick up that much needed part. If the part is not in stock, it will be available within 24 hours. This facility will be staffed with an onsite Riggs Cat, professionally trained parts person to help you with your parts ordering needs.


Hydraulic Hose Service

Introducing Hydraulic Hose Services for our customers in the Hot Springs area. This satellite facility will also be able to service all of your hydraulic hose specification and repair needs.

Equipment Rental

If your project calls for machines you do not have in your fleet, your local Riggs Rental Services professional can locate the equipment you need from our statewide inventory of over 1,000 machines.

Parts Drop Boxes

To better serve our customer's needs and make our parts deliveries more efficient, Riggs Cat has streamlined our routes and relocated several drop box locations.
